Climate Justice Walk

This walk is to pray for the new Federal government that they will prioritise Climate Justice  and environmental issues particularly when considering development applications.

·       8:30  Prayers for Climate Justice (Hindu and Bahai) - Koombana

·       8:40 – 9 Walk to Tara Meditation Centre (Buddhist)- Clifton Street  Prayers for Climate Justice

·       9:10 – 9:30 Walk to St Patrick’s Cathedral (Roman Catholic)- Money St Prayers for Climate Justice, (cold water and snacks, toilets open)

·       9:45 – 9:55 Walk to St Boniface Cathedral (Anglican)- Cross Street

Prayers for Climate Justice (toilets open)

·       10:40 – 11 Walk to St Augustine (Uniting) – 119 Mangles Street

Prayers for Climate Justice, morning tea.

Approximate time for event is 3 hours

Approximate distance covered five and a half kilometres

(It’s ok to drive if you can’t walk that distance)

Acknowledgement of Country

We acknowledge the traditional owners of this land both past and present. This land is the home of the Noongar people. We are standing now on Wardandi country the place of the dolphin dreaming. The Wardandi people are the coastal people and have strong links to this area. With respect to the current Wardandi people and ancestors of the past we thank them for accepting us.
